Timothy Biela
Dr. Biela currently serves as the Practice Medical Director for the Pediatrix Neonatology of San Antonio, a large, multi-system practice delivering care across multiple healthcare systems and encompassing thirteen NICUs, including several Level III and Level IV tertiary units.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Biela is deeply engaged in physician leadership, education, quality improvement, and patient safety. He is actively involved in practice governance and system-level collaboration, working closely with hospital partners and administrative leadership to align clinical operations, staffing models, and quality initiatives across diverse healthcare environments.
Dr. Biela’s non-clinical focus includes education, quality, and research. He plays a key leadership role within the Pediatrix Center for Research, Education, Quality, and Safety (CREQS) and serves as the Course Director for both the annual Pediatrix NEO Conference, a national educational meeting, and the monthly Pediatrix Virtual NEO Grand Rounds, both focuses on advancing neonatal care through evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
