Mr. Robert L. Goodman
Chief of Staff, Office of the Surgeon General and U.S. Army Medical Command

Selected to the Senior Executive Service in December 2012, Mr. Robert L. Goodman assumed duties as Chief of Staff, Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG) and U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) inJuly 2016. As a principal advisor to The Surgeon General/Commanding General MEDCOM, Mr. Goodman is responsible for executive leadership, oversight and management of the unified OTSG/MEDCOM staff located in two geographically dispersed states (Virginia and Texas), in support of the OTSG/MEDCOM mission to provide responsive and reliable health services and to influence Health to improve readiness, save lives and advance wellness in support of the Force, Military Families and all those entrusted to Army medical care.

From May 2013 until July 2016, Mr. Robert L. Goodman served as the Assistant Surgeon General, Force Management / Deputy Chief of Staff, Resources, Infrastructure and Strategy at the Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG) in Falls Church, Virginia. He was responsible for the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff (ADCS) for Resource Management, ADCS Program Analysis and Evaluation, ADCS Facilities, Manpower Programming, Prospective Clinical Analytics, and the Director for Strategy Management.

COL (Retired) Goodman previously served as the Commander of the United States Army Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) Bavaria, Headquartered in the Grafenwoehr Military Community, Germany. This organization consisted of roughly 800 staff caring for 40,000 enrollees within seven separate Health Clinics and a mTBI Clinic spread throughout the German State of Bavaria.
