Carol Huber

Partnership for Success: Public Health and Health System Collaboration | 4:00–5:30 PM

Carol Huber, DrPH is the Deputy Chief Public Health and Equity Officer for University Health. She leads the organization’s Institute for Public Health and champions University Health’s commitment to promoting health, preventing disease, and prolonging life in Bexar County through programs, services, and partnerships. Prior to this role, she led University Health System’s anchor role for the Medicaid 1115 waiver, helping providers across 20 south Texas counties transform health and health care delivery for Medicaid and uninsured patients. Over her 26-year career, Dr. Huber has applied expertise in strategic planning, quality improvement, community health needs assessments, and health informatics in hospital, ambulatory, and managed care environments. She currently serves as chair of the Texas Value Based Payment and Quality Improvement Advisory Committee and holds faculty appointments at UT Health Houston School of Public Health and Texas A&M University School of Public Health. She has a Bachelor of Science in community health from Texas A&M University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Doctor of Public Health degree from UT Health Houston.
