Growing up on a farm in East Central Iowa shaped the vast majority of Travis’s work ethic moving into his professional life. After obtaining his B.A. in Psychology at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA, he spent the first 10 years of his career working with adolescents in residential treatment settings after traumatic and unsuitable living conditions necessitated removal from their homes.
He then moved into the Human Resources field following a brief introduction to retail management. At the same time, he completed his M.B.A. from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Now with over nearly 20 years in the Human Resources profession, the unique educational background of Psychology and Business has allowed him to see business problems through a people lens and vice versa. While retail Human Resources is what began his career, it has been over the past nine years that he found his true passion; healthcare. Over the past nine years, Travis has served CHRISTUS Santa Rosa first as Director of Human Resources Strategy for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Healthcare- Westover Hills for 8 years and is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.
