Jennifer Banda

Jennifer Banda is senior vice president of advocacy and public policy at the Texas Hospital Association. At THA since 2003, Jennifer leads THA’s lobby and policy teams, focusing on hospital and health system advocacy and regulatory initiatives at both the state and federal level, and oversees THA’s political action committee. 

Prior to joining THA, Jennifer’s extensive legislative experience included managing health and human services policy for a previous Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. She also served as legislative director for a chairman of the House Committee on Public Health and as general counsel for a state senator. Jennifer’s other governmental experience includes stints at several state agencies, on Capitol Hill and in the White House.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Plan II Honors Program. In addition, she holds a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas.

A sixth generation Texan from Sulphur Springs, Jennifer lives in Austin with her husband, son and daughter. Jennifer serves as a UT Law School mentor, is vice chair of the Austin High School Campus Advisory Council, is on the Austin High Girls Soccer Booster Club executive committee, serves as a membership chair for the National Charity League and is active with the Women’s Symphony League. She is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Texas.
